uhh i was hoping this ask would never come bc i hhonestly dont know how to explain
i can………give tips…i guess….the rest is a matter of practicing it until you get a feel of how it works and understand the essence. the most important is not to follow step by step a tutorial but to understand better the anatomy/whatever it is you’re working on and draw it!!!!
one important thing to notice is how bokuto’s hairline is clearly visible! this means you need to know where hair naturally grows on the scalp (note: it’s not the same pattern for everyone!!)

this is roughly what it looks like for bokuto, from there on the rest is kinda a hassle but if u go at it with all of your will you(re gonna do great things

IT ALL STARTS AT THE HAIRLINE!!!!!!! always draw from the hairline to the exterior!! drawing spiky hair is a little hard honestly, but if you wanna cheat your way through it just draw some bangs pointing up and pray for it to look cool
in bokuto’s case his hair kinda points to two different directions (its harder to tell when facing other directions but) viewed from the front, you can tell his hair is just styled to point outwards toward two points..almost shaped like two triangles.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and of course dont forget to leave enough space between the hairline and the eyebrows for the forehead!!!

some people are so used to characters with bangs covering their forehead that they forget foreheads exist. remember foreheads.they are underrated.
i hope this at least helps in some way, i honestly never really struggled with his hair because i had already drawn this kind of spikey hair, so i don’t know what are the usual mistakes people make that i could help correct. in any case my inbox is always open.
oh and heres another interesting tutorial for hairlines and other hair structures i wish you good luck space owlboys
